Legal

Terms and Privacy.

Please read this first. This is a plain-language draft written for review. It is not legal advice and it is not the final terms of service. We are sharing it early so you can see how we think and how the platform is meant to work. It will be reviewed by counsel and finalized before launch, and the language here may change.

What HomeBidPros is, and what it is not

HomeBidPros is a directory and a platform that connects homeowners with contractors. We are not a party to the work and we are not a party to the contract between a homeowner and a contractor. We do not perform the work, supervise it, or stand behind it.

We do not guarantee workmanship, payment, or any outcome. Once an introduction is made, the homeowner and the contractor deal directly, and what happens between them is between them. We are not liable for the work, the payment, or the result after that introduction. We do not hold money in escrow and we do not run dispute resolution.

How contractors get listed

Contractors appear on HomeBidPros by their own consent. We may build a draft listing from public business information, but nothing goes live and no project is forwarded until the contractor reviews their own listing and chooses to publish it. A contractor who has not opted in is not listed and does not receive projects. The contractor publishes their own page, and that act is their agreement to be listed and to receive requests through the platform.

What we verify, stated honestly

We try to be plain about what we check and what we do not. Where official records are available, we cross-check a contractor provided license against the official state record. Where we have not yet wired up a jurisdiction, the license is shown as self-reported rather than verified. We do not claim to verify more than we actually verify, and we will never label something verified without a real match against an official record. We show you the license number and a link to the official source so you can check it yourself.

Reviews

Reviews come only from real, completed transactions on the platform. A person cannot leave a public review of a contractor they never actually hired and worked with through HomeBidPros. This keeps reviews honest and protects good contractors from reviews that are not tied to real jobs. Contractors are given a fair chance to respond to a review in public.

How your identity stays private

Identities stay private until a bid is accepted. A homeowner can post a project and receive bids without exposing a name, an address, or a phone number. A contractor is known by their work and their reviews until a bid is accepted. Real contact details cross between the two sides only after a bid has been accepted. Until then, messages route through the platform with identities masked.

What we collect

We collect what we need to run the service and no more. That includes an email address for early access and account sign in, the details of a project a homeowner chooses to post, and the contact information that is released only when a bid is accepted. Project photos and video are used to build the project so contractors can bid on it.

How we treat your information

We do not sell your personal information. We use it to run the platform, to connect the two sides of a project, and to keep the service working and safe. You can ask us to remove your information, and you can ask us to remove a listing or a project. We will honor reasonable removal requests.

Questions

If you have any questions about these terms or about how we handle your information, please reach out to us through the site. We would rather hear from you than leave you guessing.
